L Satya Srinivas Appointed CEO of GeM Portal

 

P K Singh has moved to the MoP of renewable energy thus L Satya Srinivas has been appointed as an additional CEO GeM. Heading the IT will be Srinivas, an IRS (Customs & Indirect Taxes) officer of the 1991 batch.

L Satya Srinivas who works with the Indian government in the capacity of an Additional Secretary in the Department of Commerce will be the new CEO of the Government e Marketplace (GeM). This decision was taken because of the recent appointment of the earlier chief executive officer namely P K Singh as secretary of the ministry of renewable energy. In this strategic post will be Srinivas an officer of the Indian Revenue Service (Customs & Indirect Taxes ) 1991 batch, will monitor online purchase processes of all central government ministries.

Previous CEO’s Transition

The leadership at the GeM initiative has recently shifted to renewable energy ministry with P K Singh as the new secretary to join the government in its consistent endeavour to enhance competent leadership in various sectors.

About the GeM Portal

Since the development of the GeM Portal, the actual government procurement has changed as various government entities got an access to the digital portal which enables them purchase goods and services, making procurement process more transparent and efficient.
