Srinivas Appointed CEO of GeM Public Procurement Portal

 

New Delhi, October 11 (PTI): L Satya Srinivas, presently an Additional Secretary in the Department of Commerce, has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the public procurement platform GeM by the government.

This extra charge was levied because P K Singh, erstwhile GeM CEO has been redeployed as secretary in the ministry of new and renewable energy ministry.

Srinivas is a customs & International Taxation officer of Indian Revenue Service of 1991 batch.

It is our pleasure to announce the following: “Shri L Satya Srinivas, Additional Secretary, Department of Commerce, GN has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of GeM on additional basis,” GeM declared the latest development on its page on social media.

The GeM site was launched on 9 th of August 2016 that empowered all central government ministries and departments to purchase products and services online.
